OUR MINISTRIES
THE CHILDREN'S CHURCH MINISTRY
Meets every 1st & 3rd Sunday during regular Worship time. Ages 3 - 10 years old. Adjourns July & August
THE CHURCH SCHOOL MINISTRY
The Church School is an integral part of Christian Education. The goal is to provide opportunities for every member of the church to participate in fulfilling the requirements of the Scripture to become and then “make disciples”. The Church School is in session for all ages each Sunday morning, 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. The classes follow a uniformed curriculum so that every age group is studying the same scriptures and learning how to apply them to their lives.
THE CREOLA L. WILLIAMS MISSIONARY SOCIETY
Assists the needy through charitable support. Ministers to the sick, shut-ins, bereaved, etc. Meets monthly every 4th Tuesday at 7:30p.m.
The Diaconate Ministry
The Diaconate Ministry functions as the Spiritual leaders of the church. Deacons and Deaconess provide practical service to the poor, needy and those suffering within and outside of the church. As subordinate officers of the church they are committed to serve the Lord, the pastor and the disciples. They are following the Pastor’s lead in sharing love, forgiveness, compassion and a life of prayer in their daily living. They support the Pastor in his (God’s) mission, ministry, and purpose and in evangelistic programs of the church.
The Mission of the Diaconate Ministry is to serve the Lord, the people and our pastor. They are always available to serve as God has commanded. 1Timothy 3:13, Acts 6: 3-4
THE DORCAS SERVICE MINISTRY
To assist the needs of Congregation: prepares food for various functions on request. Meetings are announced.
THE FLORAL CLUB MINISTRY
Secures floral arrangements for the beautification of the sanctuary. Meets monthly every 3rd Saturday at 3:00p.m.
THE FUNERAL MINISTRY
Sets up and serves luncheon for families after completion of funeral services. Meeting times are announced
THE MARRIAGE ENRICHMENT MINISTRY
To offer love and support and to share godly wisdom and instructions to help strengthen marriages. Meeting time to be announced.
THE MEN'S MINISTRY
Promotes male presence and camaraderie in the Church. Assists and serves as role models for boys and young men at Calvary and in the community. Meets monthly every 3rd Tuesday at 7:00p.m.
THE MUSIC MINISTRY
Choirs minister through music and song.
SANCTUARY CHOIR
Sings every 1st Sunday and rehearses on Thursday evenings at 7:30p.m.
CELESTIAL CHOIR
Sings every 2nd Sunday and rehearses on Monday evenings at 6:30p.m.
GOSPEL CHORUS
Sings every 3rd Sunday and rehearses on Thursday evenings at 7:30p.m.
MEN'S CHORUS
Sings every 4th Sunday and rehearses on Saturday afternoons at 5:00p.m.
YOUTH CHOIR
Sings every 2nd Sunday and rehearses on Monday evenings at 6:30p.m.
UNITED VOICES
Sings every 1st and 4th Sundays and rehearses on Monday evenings at 7:00p.m.
COMBINED CHOIR
Sings every 5th Sunday and during special services. Rehearsals are announced.
THE NURSE'S MINISTRY
Renders First Aid during assembly of the Calvary Baptist Church and promotes health programs to benefit Church and community.
THE PASTOR'S AID MINISTRY
Provides special assistance and support to the Pastor. Meets monthly on the 2nd Saturday at 6:30p.m.
THE SENIORS, WIDOWS AND WIDOWERS MINISTRY
Sponsors activities and program on behalf and for the benefit of Seniors, Widows and Widowers. Meeting are announced.
THE SCHOLARSHIP MINISTRY
Aids and assists students in continuing their education beyond high school. Administers the Church Scholarship Funds. Meets monthly Tuesday after the second Sunday at 7:30p.m
THE TRUSTEE MINISTRY
For We are God’s workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works , which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10
The Trustee Ministry is responsible for all finances, real estate, compensation, contracts, maintenance and upkeep of the church and its property
THE USHERS MINISTRY
Greets and supervises the seating of worshippers. The Junior ushers are the duty ushers on the 3rd Sunday of each month. Senior ushers are duty ushers on the 1st and 2nd Sunday of each month. Young adults are the duty ushers on the 4th Sunday. Senior ushers meet quarterly. Junior ushers and young adults meet monthly.
THE WOMEN'S MINISTRY
Promotes opportunities for growth and fellowship in the Sisterhood of the of the Church. Meetings are announced.
THE YOUTH MINISTRY
Sponsors activities and programs involving middle and high school students of Calvary that promote spiritual, social, educational and psychological growth. Meetings are announced.
THE YOUNG ADULT MINISTRY
Sponsors activities and programs for members eighteen and older that promote spiritual growth and development. Meetings are announced.
